FINAL: Texas 5, Georgia 1
End 8: Texas 5, Georgia 1
Jared Spencer started the eighth inning by inducing a strikeout and a groundout, but a pair of two-out walks prevented him from finishing it out. Jim Schlossnagle called upon freshman Dylan Volantis to get a big out against Georgia slugger Ryland Zaborowski, which he did with help from a diving play at shortstop by Jalin Flores. The Longhorns managed a walk in the bottom of the inning, but Tommy Farmer never advanced past first base.
End 7: Texas 5, Georgia 1
The Bulldogs' power bats finally got to Jared Spencer in the seventh, when Nolan McCarthy launched a solo shot to left field. But Spencer responded with a pair of strikeouts to bring his total to 10 on the night, which equals a career high. The Texas bats once again were set down in order in their half of the inning.
