NORTH DAKOTA — A Warwick, North Dakota, man pleaded guilty Wednesday, April 9, to sexual abuse of an incapacitated victim and sexual abuse of a minor.

Jourdain Jaden Smith, 25, was indicted for these charges and two more — aggravated sexual abuse by force and possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors — in August 2023.

A press release issued by the North Dakota district of the U.S. Attorney's Office shortly after the charges were filed said Smith was accused of sexually abusing two minor girls and possessing sexual exploitation materials of one of them. The acts occurred within the Spirit Lake Reservation.

The indictment filed in federal court says the sexual abuse of a minor took place throughout the year of 2020, and the sexual abuse of an incapacitated victim occurred in October 2021.

Smith's sentencing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 18.
